Close your eyes and picture this…

  • An open ended vacation to Vernazza. A small town on the coast of Italy
  • The sun sparkling off turquoise blue water.
  • The salty sea air blowing through your hair.
  • Eating tons of carbs without wanting to kill yourself.
  • You spend your days swimming in the ocean getting all freckled and tanned. You explore a gorgeous town, help renovate a bed and breakfast, and form life long friendships.
  • Oh! And did I mention you get to fall for a devastatingly handsome Italian man…

*Dreamy sigh*

Paradise, am I right? Now times that by one hundred and you have the latest R.S. Grey novel, A Place in the Sun. This quirky Rom-Com  is filled with heat, passion and hope that sweeps you off your feet from page one.

After being set up on bad date after bad date, Georgie Archibald flees the country to look for love. Her plan: make her way through Italy searching for that passionate, can’t eat can’t sleep, romance that everyone, but her, has found. However, her first stop steals her heart and soul in the form of a magical  town called Vernazza and a drop dead gorgeous man named Gianluca. Georgie is my favorite type of character. She’s unique, witty and genuine. She’s the type of person that truly cares about the ones closest to her and won’t give up on them. Plus, her faults and quirks make her real and easy to relate to. I adored the friendship she formed with Katerina. Instantly, they were two peas in a pod and weren’t afraid to give each other a little tough love when needed.

As Georgie travels about Vernazza, exploring all the city has to offer, I felt like I was there walking right beside her. Grey’s descriptions of Vernazza pulls you in and and makes you feel as if you have been transported to the Italian coast. You can see the beautiful sunset, smell the sea air, taste the yummy gelato, and fall in love with the locals. Especially one in particular…

*wink wink*

Gianluca, or as his friends call him, Luca, is as frustrating as he is dreamy. Five years after experiencing a loss that no one should feel, he has become a shell of a man. A recluse. Never letting anyone close. All the girls want him and try to bring him to the light, but sadly they all fail. Not wanting to let go of the woman he lost, he and Georgie strike up a deal. All fun but keep the feelings out of it, however, we all know where that road leads. Gianluca is an interesting man to read about. You can feel his sadness and see that he is just walking through life, going through the motions. But that all changed when Georgie stepped off the train. I loved watching his character grow and accept that he could love again, and that it was okay to be happy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these types of characters are truly inspiring and I’m so proud of them as they take the steps to heal and experience hope.

A Place in the Sun is the perfect getaway novel. It transports you to a stunning city that is rich in food, friendship, and love. R.S. Grey did a phenomenal job sticking with her original story lines and characters while delivering one of her best novels yet.

When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.

Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away…that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.

After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.

But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.

After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

//Author Bio//

unnamed-3I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
