Inked Avenue Reviews… “Swink” by Adriana Locke

Adriana Locke just turned up the heat!!! Swink is without a doubt one of this summers HOTTEST reads! I mean who doesn’t love when the bad boy falls for the good girl? It’s a novel that you just know is going to be filled with drama, angst, and spice! Let me tell you, it delivered on all accounts!

“I don’t know what to do with you. I sure as hell don’t know what to do without you.”

The concept of this novel is very simple… The good girl meets the bad boy. *feels all the feels* He’s her “attempt at rebellion” but what happens when you fall for each other? I love the way that Adriana Locke was able to take what could have been a very mundane overused story-line and make it completely her own. The heart and soul in which she wrote each character transformed this novel from just another romance into a sweet squeal inducing, swoon worthy, sexy ride with that signature Landry family feel. Did you see what I did there with the S’s.

Camilla was such a breath of fresh air. Where her brothers where led by their heads, Camilla was led by her heart. Her kind and compassionate personality out shined her gorgeous exterior and her fierce determination was something not to be reckoned with. What I love most about her was that she found her voice in this novel. Dom hated her living her life for her brothers and letting them “control” her, and when she finally realized she was her own person… well, lets just say I was proud!

Dom… Dom, Dom, Dom… How to describe you?

Beyond his drool worthy exterior, he was a protector by heart. Always looking out for his family and those closest to his soul, he never failed to put others before himself. Which only makes you fall for him harder. Convinced he’s not good enough and will never be good enough for Cam, he keeps her at an arms length, but desperately wants to pull her close. This, naturally, becomes an issue between the two, but made for a sweet reunion when all was said and done.

They are the definition of opposites attract, but only if you are looking at the surface. But if you look deeper their souls were the same and that was the root that stemmed their relationship!

I absolutely adored this novel and hate that it’s over, but that is what re-reads are for right? One Click this NOW! You can think me later.

XX,

Jennifer

I’m that guy.

Camilla Landry rustles against me, the silky fabric of her overpriced lingerie slipping along my bruised rib. The porcelain perfection of her skin is even more innocent against the colorful ink dotting my own. It’s demure meets damage, pampered meets punctured.

So, yeah, it’s obvious I’m that guy. Dominic Hughes. Her attempt at rebellion. Her bid to see what the other side of the tracks feel like. I’m okay with being used because, from where I’m sitting, the other side of the tracks have never looked so good.
